Bygone Days
Carl, Reta, Jerry and Donna on the motor scooter that Dad build for us. Picture dates from mid to late 40's.
The tires were from a Piper Cub airplane, the engine was from a washing machine back in the days when not everyone had electricity so washing machines has gasoline engines. Dad formed pipe and welded it for the frame to make a "one of a kind" scooter big enough for all four of us.

South Haven Heald family home in winter. Mom & Dad bought this home in 1933 and raised the four of us kids here. The house was sold to Karl Jensen after Mom died in 1998. |
